Bio
cdj1000's, abelton live, pioneerdjm600 Chris Cargo has been at the forefront of electronic music in Ireland for nearly 15 years, a pioneer of his era on the emerald isle! All styles of House Music find there way into Chris's sets – a true professional who can adapt to any environment. Described as 'perfect sex machine body music' by DJ Magazine and simply 'inspired' by M8 magazine. Chris manages to complement various styles into his djing sets, a journey if you like! From triumphant sets @ Lush! In Portrush, to wowing the crowds at SOS in Hang Zhou, Q-Club-Zurich, Earth-Amsterdam, Zouk in Singapore and Pacha Ibiza to countless gigs in his native UK... Chris's thought of not sticking to one genre has proved dividend. As he explains "I couldn't stick to one genre" Chris says "it would just be boring plus a lot of djs get stuck playing the same sound over and over and before you know it you've been left behind so its important to take risks with your music" Regular tours for the likes of Renaissance, Smirnoff, Tennents, Kent Tobacco, China Loop and Renaissance have seen Chris ply his wares on several large scale tours around China, USA, Russia and South America. Chris’s fan base is equally as big worldwide as it is in his native Northern Ireland one look at his list of gigs merely confirms this. From Kuala Lumpur to Kazakhstan via Mexico, Siberia, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Vilnius, Hamburg, Moscow, Athens in fact it would be easier to say were he hasn't been. Chris's productions and remixes perfectly compliment his Djing style with almost 50 to his name. Weather it is under his breaks guise of Carganoid and re-editing the likes of Green Velvet, releasing chunky Progressive on Renaissance or remixing Rave anthems like Rozalla “Everybody’s Free” Chris is equally at home, indeed you can listen too many of Chris’s productions at www.chriscargo.co.uk or www.myspace.com/chriscargo There have been many high’s in Chris’s career some of those include producing alongside the likes of Barry Gilbey and D.Ramirez, DJing to 10,000 people at Creamfields, having countless plays on BBC Radio One, Witnessing John Digweed drop his remix of Sabres of Paradise-Smokebelch at midnight on New Years Eve and regularly obtaining tune of the month awards in both Mixmag and DJ Mag respectfully. Further confirming Chris's mass appeal numerous compilation appearances for the likes of Renaissance, Intec, Seb Fontaine,Danny Howells, Valentino Kanzyani, Anthony Pappa, Slinky,Privledge-Ibiza, Global Underground and many more have further confirmed Chris's wide appeal and quality output making it easy to see why Chris is as well known in Eastern Europe as he is in his native Belfast. Bringing you right up to date and Chris’s remix of Cowgirl by Underworld has gained massive radio one plays and huge support from the likes of David Guetta (who dropped it at Creamfields), Tom novy who ended most Sunday’s at Space with it (check the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2zDB_AN8JU), Annie Nightingale who championed it on BBC Radio One, Steve Lawler, Desyn Massiello, Danny Howells and many many more. 2008 looks set to be another massive year for Chris with a shopping basket full of productions on labels such as Punchfunk, Method, Tokyio, Hiddenform and Whoop, as well as continuing his own monthly mix show for American based Balance Record Pool on Proton Radio and he’s just finished remixing the latest Tom Novy single. If all this wasn’t enough Chris has also begun work on his debut album which is due for release on RadioCity before the end of the year. tooo many to mention
